Have your Beach Wedding in Mauritius !!!
What is more romantic than
getting married in Mauritius, right on the beach, with a beautiful
sunset behind you ....
If you wish to organise your wedding in Mauritius at Ocean
Villas, or sister boutique hotel, Ocean Beauty, our wedding planner can help you with the actual preparation
of the wedding ceremony, reception and honeymoon in Mauritius.
We don't do 'factory' cookie-cutter weddings. Unlike other hotels in Mauritius, we take our time to ensure you feel special on that day and yet, say 'yes' in an idyllic environment.
Getting Married in Mauritius is so easy!!!
The wedding ceremony is usually organised in
the afternoon, in the presence of two witnesses and the civil officer
for the signature.
Once at Ocean Villas, you may decide where
you would like to have the table for the wedding ceremony - on the
beach, or your favourite spot in the tropical garden. In Mauritius, wedding is a special occasion. The table
is decorated with banana leaves, coconuts and loose flowers. You
may request for cocktails (eg. Pina Colada) served in pineapple or coconut - very
popular - or the classic champagne.
During your wedding ceremony in Mauritius , you may book our
local singer and guitarist for a wedding march and thereafter as
background music while you are taking pictures on our beach.
Wedding Reception
For your wedding reception dinner, our chef
highly recommends a 5-course dinner for the occasion. Once at Ocean
Villas, we may discuss your preferences so we can better cater to
your tastes and you may decide to go for gourmet (usually), creole-local, French, oriental
or seafood menu.
Mauritius Wedding formalities
The Civil Status Act provides that the marriage in Mauritius
of non-citizens and non-residents may be celebrated on the day immediately
following the day of publication of bans.
The intending spouses should however produce
to the Mauritius Civil Status Officer at the time of publication a certificate
issued under the Authority of the Prime Minister to the effect that
they are not citizens or residents of Mauritius. Such a certificate
is obtainable on application to the Registrar of Civil Status, 7th
level, Emmanuel Anquetil Building, Port Louis. Tel: (230) 201 1727,
Fax: (230) 211 2420.
The documents to be forwarded on application
are 2 photocopies of each birth certificate and 2 photocopies of
each passport (the first 3 pages only) and any other docment in
case of divorce or widow/widower. The application for a certificate
of non-citizens/non-resident should reach the Civil Status Office
10 days before the date of the proposed wedding.
If you wish, we can arrange for the administrative
part with the Civil Status office which is included in our wedding arrangements for you.
